For 20 years, Michelle has developed and successfully executed communications programs for privately-held and publicly-traded companies spanning technology and consumer sectors. She has launched new companies, participated in acquisition and IPO activities, and generated renewed interest for fading businesses. She also served as the director of corporate communications for Carrier Access, a provider of communications access technologies, where she was responsible for marketing communications, public relations and investor relations. Before that, Michelle was the managing director of a Boston-based PR firm where she provided strategic counsel related to corporate, product and competitive positioning, and devised corporate development strategies. In this role, she directed worldwide communication initiatives and managed PR agencies in Asia Pacific and the U. She served as a board member for the Colorado chapter of the American Marketing Association, and as an adjunct faculty member at Metropolitan State University of Denver for five years. In , she joined the University as an assistant professor in the Journalism and Technical Communication Department where she leads the public relations degree program.

Jump to navigation. Michelle started her career in professional services while working with a professional accounting association in British Columbia. She also produced an annual report detailing economic conditions throughout the province and the corresponding government policies and regulations affecting these regions. One of the unique parts of the job was attending provincial budget release days. On these days, Michelle would sit in a locked room with hundreds of others, reviewing the embargoed budget, trying to digest and come up with appropriate talking points before its release. When the door opened and media streamed in, it was a dash to connect with key reporters quickly to ensure being included in the first stories. When the opportunity came for Michelle to move to Big Law, she jumped at the chance. With eight years of experience in heading the communications department of an AmLaw firm, Michelle understands the challenges faced by in-house legal marketers and communicators.
